We use soap to wash our cars, wash our house, wash our bodies, and wash our dogs. Do we use the same soap for all purposes? Of course not! Some soaps and detergents are suited better for your car than your house. But are some soaps better for one person than another? I believe so. Some soaps will work better for those with oily skin and other soaps will moisturize. Some soaps can even better suited for men rather than women. The best soap for men will clean a little deeper, smell masculine, and have a masculine color.

All Purpose Soaps

There are many run of mill cheap soaps on the market today.  Actually there are thousands of expensive soaps that are almost indistinguishable as well.  There are companies that advertise bees wax, exotic exfoliates, angel extract, and even pomegranate extract with gold soap.  But in reality how different can these soaps be?

If you are guy and into artificial soaps and ingredients then Axe and Irish Spring might be your best choice. This will certainly be the most economical choice. When we talked about The Best Natural Soap for Acne we talked about steerling clear of Parabens, Sulfates, and Triclosan. If you care about the long-term care of your skin then I would advise you do the same no matter what sex you are. And this might rule out factory soaps.

The Best Soap for Men

We’re all about homemade natural soap and these soaps work great for men and women. Just because you’re a tough guy doesn’t mean you don’t have pores.  And men’s skin needs love too!  If Rob Lowe can pitch cosmetics and swear that natural ingredients are better than sulfates who are we do disbelieve him?  There’s not many men that look better at his age.

There’s no magic formula for what makes a soap the best soap for men.  A great bar of soap for a woman could be just as great for a guy.  There are some subtle differences to men and women’s skin however.  Women generally need a full cleansing bar and maybe one with natural moisturizers. Unless of course they need a soap for sensitive skin.  A soap made of coconut oil will foam up a little better and be softer than other natural soaps. A harder bar would be made of palm oil would used for the best soap for men.

The color and fragrance really set apart a man’s soap from a woman’s. If using a fragrance oil for one of the musk fragrances is the most “manly.” Musk is a whole class of fragrant substances used as base notes in perfumery. Even though the debate on the existence of sex pheromones continues, there are scientists who believe that the smell of musk closely resembles the smell of testosterone, which may act as a pheromone in humans. If you are using essential oils then the scent of peppermint or lemongrass is probably best. The color of activated charcoal or natural green (Chlorophyll which has deodorizing properties) would work best with the lemongrass or peppermint.
